How to Prep & Ship Your Samples

If you’re reading this, your sample plates have arrived! The steps below walk you through how to prepare, document, and ship your samples so we can generate the highest-quality data possible. Thank you or trusting Veil. These steps help ensure the highest-quality data possible.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Confirm your final sample count with your Veil Account Manager
Locate your Sample Intake Sheet (custom link or CSV)
Review the instructions for your sample type below

PREPARING TISSUE OR SOLID SAMPLES
Sample Preparation
Add 100 mg of tissue to each designated well of the provided deep-well plate.
Avoid splashing or cross-contamination between wells.
Documentation
Complete the Sample Intake Sheet with sample IDs and plate layout.
Email the completed sheet before shipping.
Missing the sheet? Contact sales@veilgenomics.com.
Plate Preparation
Spin briefly to settle tissue at bottom of the wells.
Seal plate tightly with the provided foil seal, ensuring full edge adhesion.
Freezing
Freeze flat at –20°C overnight or longer.
Avoid disturbing samples once sealed.
Packaging with Dry Ice
Place plate in a styrofoam shipper.
Surround the plate completely with dry ice (minimum 3 inches of dry ice above, below and on all sides of the plate.)
If shipping more than one plate, ensure at least 6 inches of dry ice is between plates.
Shipping
Ship overnight (FedEx Priority Overnight recommended.)
Label per IATA regulations for Biological Substance, Category B (UN 3373) with Dry Ice (UN 1845.)
Email tracking info to your Account Manager or sales@veilgenomics.com.

Add 400 µL of EDTA whole blood into each designated well of the provided deep-well plate.
Avoid splashing or cross-contamination between wells.
Documentation
Complete the Sample Intake Sheet with sample IDs and plate layout.
Email the completed sheet before shipping.

We will confirm receipt of your samples.
QC begins upon arrival of your samples.
Your Veil Account Manager will keep you updated on sequencing and delivery timelines.
