Current Open Roles
Sales & Account Representative — Plant & Animal Genomics
Veil Genomics | Remote (minimal travel) | Full-Time | Posted October 5, 2026 until filled
About the Role
Veil Genomics is looking for a Sales Representative to own the full customer journey — from first outreach through closed deal — for our plant and animal genomics accounts. This is not a lead-handoff role: you'll build your own pipeline, qualify and nurture opportunities, and stay engaged with the customer through experiment design conversations with our scientific team, all the way to signed project and beyond.
You'll be the primary point of contact shepherding accounts through the full funnel, working closely with Veil's scientific and lab operations team to help customers design sequencing experiments that fit their research goals — then closing the business and keeping the relationship warm for repeat and recurring work.
What You'll Do
Pipeline & Outreach
Build and maintain a target account list across plant and animal breeding, agricultural genomics, and veterinary/animal health research organizations (academic, commercial, and government).
Run outbound prospecting (email campaigns, calls, and follow-up sequences) to generate qualified discovery meetings.
Track every account, contact, and deal stage in Monday.com — our CRM of record — keeping pipeline data accurate and current.
Account Shepherding
Own accounts end-to-end: from first contact through discovery, technical qualification, proposal, and close — you don't hand off and disappear.
Partner with Veil's scientific team on customer calls to help translate research goals into experiment design (sample size, coverage depth, project scope) and connect that back to a clear proposal.
Keep deals moving — following up, answering questions, coordinating quotes, and clearing the path to signature.
Post-Close & Recurring Business
Stay engaged with closed accounts to identify recurring and repeat project opportunities, particularly for population-scale or high-sample-volume work.
Build long-term relationships with plant and animal research labs so Veil becomes their go-to long-read sequencing partner.
Reporting & Process
Maintain clean, current records in Monday.com for pipeline visibility and forecasting.
Help refine outbound messaging and prospecting sequences based on what's converting.
What We're Looking For
Experience in genomics, life sciences, or biotech sales — inside sales, business development, or account management background preferred.
Comfort with technical, consultative selling — you don't need to be a scientist, but you should be able to hold your own in a conversation about sequencing workflows and sample design, or learn quickly.
Familiarity with (or willingness to learn) plant and animal genomics applications: breeding programs, agricultural research, veterinary genetics.
Strong outbound sales instincts: prospecting, qualifying, and moving deals through a pipeline without heavy hand-holding.
Experience with Monday.com or a comparable CRM.
Excellent written and verbal communication — you'll be crafting outreach, running discovery calls, and coordinating with a technical team.
Self-directed and comfortable working remotely as part of a small, high-trust team.
Compensation & Structure
Base Salary: $75,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience.
Commission: Percentage-based commission on closed business, paid quarterly.
Benefits: Health insurance.
Location: Remote, with minimal travel expected (occasional account visits as needed).
Why Veil Genomics
Veil Genomics helps researchers scale long-read PacBio HiFi sequencing to larger cohorts at a lower cost per sample — making population-scale, long-read genomic studies practical for plant and animal researchers who've historically been priced or throughput-constrained out of long-read work. You'd be joining at a stage where you can shape the sales process, not just execute someone else's playbook.
